L'altalena - See-saw - Balançoire - Die wippe

Un libro, un gioco o una lunga e divertente striscia da appendere... l'altalena può essere tutto questo. Le pagine ripiegate a fisarmonica raffigurano animali stilizzati neri e marroni che si rincorrono, si sovrappongono, balzano con i loro "pesanti corpi" sulle estremità della più semplice delle altalene alla ricerca di un equilibrio possibile. Una sgargiante copertina verde e rossa avvolge pesanti elefanti, sinuosi serpenti e statuari canguri. Il libro, senza parole, parla concettualmente ai bambini di quantità, forme, pesi ed equilibri. Il primo progetto di questo libro (e l'edizione limitata) sono del 1961.

The See-saw (L'altalena) can be either a book, a game or an entertaining strip to hang up.
The concertina-fold pages are full of black and brown stylised animals that chase one another, overlap, leap with their “heavy bodies” onto the ends of the simplest of swings trying to keep their balance.
A brightly coloured red and green cover envelops cumbersome elephants, sinuous snakes and statuesque kangaroos. The book does not have words and speaks conceptually to children of quantity, shapes, weight and balance.
The first ideas for this book (the limited edition) date from 1961.
